The provincial analysis (which we can see on our blog on Rankia) also allows us to confirm what the chart by autonomous community hinted at. Indeed, with the exception of Madrid, all the provinces that rank high are located on the Mediterranean coast. We already saw that the case of Madrid is particular in every sense, not only, as we say here, because it is the only inland province that has a large number of advertised homes, but also because of the type of those homes. We should not forget that it is the capital and so it would always attract attention. 

Leaving the Madrid case aside, we can assume that the provinces on the Mediterranean coast are the ones where the business model of Airbnb is most firmly established. However, we have also seen that there are extremely saturated provinces. In both Barcelona and Málaga it would be more difficult to start a business of this type, because of the excess supply, than in any of the provinces of the Valencian Community (which receive a large flow of tourism).

In fact, given the current national political situation, at the moment the Valencian Community receives a large part of the non-seasonal tourism that used to go to Catalonia. And as we mentioned in another post, there would be barely half as many advertised homes.

We could conclude the analysis of the state of Airbnb in Spain by saying, with the data in hand, that the business is widely established in the coastal areas of the Levante, except for Madrid, but that some of them already have too much supply, so it is necessary to assess carefully where to set foot before deciding to invest.

On the other hand, in the interior and along the rest of the coastlines the model is barely established, but many of these provinces are nonetheless good tourist destinations. Here the investment could be riskier and with a more uncertain outcome.
